Scott Beegle, MD, MS

Dr. Beegle has been caring for Capital Region residents his whole career. As director of Albany Medical Center’s medical intensive care unit, he led the medical ICU team through the initial Covid-19 surge and continued to care for Covid patients through the pandemic. He also cares for patients with other pulmonary conditions, and has a special interest in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease (ILD), venous thromboembolism (VTE), mechanical ventilation, sepsis, vasculitis, and pulmonary infections.

Dr. Beegle has also been involved in studies and publications related to COPD, sarcoidosis, ILD, VTE, and pulmonary infections.

Dr. Beegle completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Albany Medical Center. He also completed a lung transplant fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Albany Medical College, where he served as fourth-year chief medical resident. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in molecular biology.
