Jeff Kim, MD

Department of Surgery
Member of AMC Faculty

Dr. Kim is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in microsurgery. Microsurgery is often used in complex reconstructions following trauma or cancer-related surgeries. It involves the use of specialized operating microscopes and precision instrumentation to repair blood vessels and nerves less than a few millimeters in diameter.

Dr. Kim has a special interest in autologous “free flap” breast reconstruction. This procedure uses tissue from another area of the body (such as the ‘tummy fat’), rather than an implant/prosthetic device, to reconstruct the breast’s form after mastectomy (breast removal surgery) is performed for cancer.

He also performs reconstructions of sensitive areas of the face following resection of cancerous skin lesions such as squamous cell carcinoma/basal cell carcinoma and melanoma, as well as large complex soft tissue defects of the trunk and extremities resulting from sarcoma resection or after trauma. In addition, he performs purely cosmetic procedures including but not limited to, rhinoplasties, face lifts, breast augmentations/lifts and abdominoplasties.
