Amy K. VanBlarcum, MS, OTR/L, earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Russell Sage College and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Sage Graduate School. She has more than a decade of clinical experience working across a variety of rehabilitation settings and patient populations.
Amy’s clinical background includes physical rehabilitation, geriatrics, mental and cognitive health, hand therapy, and ergonomics. Her graduate clinical training focused on physical rehabilitation and mental health, with Level II fieldwork experiences at Sheppard Pratt Institute and Kingston Hospital.
Amy began her occupational therapy career in subacute and long-term care settings before joining Albany Medical Center’s therapy team in 2010. She has extensive experience working in acute care and acute rehabilitation and has since expanded her practice into the outpatient therapy setting.
She enjoys treating patients with neurologic conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and traumatic brain injury, as well as orthopedic conditions and ergonomic-related concerns. Amy is passionate about helping patients improve function, independence, and quality of life through individualized, patient-centered care.
