$88,000 Donation from Columbia Memorial Health Auxiliary Will Enhance Patient Care and Comfort

Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) has received $88,000 from the CMH Auxiliary to fund equipment supporting bedside care and the patient experience. The gift was presented at a ceremonial check presentation attended by members of the Auxiliary, hospital leadership, and the CMH Foundation.

The Auxiliary’s contribution will be used to purchase patient overbed tables, positioning wedges, mobility equipment, visitor seating, and hemodialysis equipment. Hemodialysis plays a critical role in treating patients whose kidneys are no longer able to adequately filter waste and fluids from the blood. The additional equipment ensures continuity of care and helps the hospital meet patient volume and clinical needs without interruption.

“This important equipment will help us provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for both patients and their visitors and will help us ensure continuity of care for patients receiving hemodialysis,” said Dorothy Urschel, president and CEO of CMH. “We are extraordinarily grateful to the Auxiliary for its ongoing support and partnership.”

Founded in 1953 and known affectionately as the Pink Ladies, the CMH Auxiliary has donated more than $1.6 million to Columbia Memorial Health and contributed countless volunteer hours supporting the hospital and its patients.

The CMH Foundation partners with the Auxiliary to steward philanthropic support that strengthens hospital services and patient care.
