Saratoga Hospital has been Magnet Recognized since 2004, receiving redesignation in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025, demonstrating excellence in nursing practice, patient care, and overall work environment. This designation is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is considered the highest honor for nursing practice in the United States.
An 'A' in Patient Safety
Saratoga Hospital earned an "A" for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group for Spring 2025. This is their sixth straight 'A' grade from the Leapfrog Group for patient safety, representing the hospital's unwavering commitment to patient care.

Saratoga Hospital has earned national recognition as an “Age-Friendly Health System – Committed to Care Excellence.” This designation affirms that geriatric patients can count on us for age-appropriate care that is built on evidence-based best practices, reduces harm, and emphasizes what matters most to patients and their families.
HANYS Pinnacle Award for Quality & Patient Safety
Saratoga Hospital won this prestigious award, from the Hospital Association of New York State (HANYS), for our innovative approach to diagnosing and treating Clostridioides difficile infection. Our novel strategy resulted in significant reductions in unnecessary treatment and related side effects and patient harm.
Antimicrobial Stewardship Center of Excellence
Saratoga Hospital was named a Center of Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship. This designation, from the Infectious Diseases Society of America, recognizes the quality of our infectious disease team and our commitment to best practices in prescribing medications and helping prevent drug resistance.
Center of Excellence - Robotic Surgery

Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight-Loss Program has been awarded the Blue Distinction Center designation for Bariatric Surgery as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program of BlueShield of Northeastern New York. The designation is reserved for nationally accredited bariatric programs that excel in delivering safe, effective treatment.
MBSAQIP Accredited Center
The Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight-Loss Program has been accredited as a comprehensive bariatric facility by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). The "comprehensive" designation signifies that Saratoga Bariatric Surgery & Weight-Loss Center meets rigorous standards for bariatric care and provides the resources necessary to meet the needs of bariatric patients before and after surgery.
Aetna Institutes of Quality Award
Aetna has recognized the Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight-Loss Program as an Aetna Institute of Quality Bariatric Surgery Facility for treating individuals with morbid, or extreme, obesity. The designation reflects our consistent performance in delivering safe, evidence-based care.
