We have hearing centers located at Albany Medical Center, Glens Falls Hospital, and Saratoga Hospital that offer diagnostic assessments, consultations, and educational services to provide you with comprehensive and professional care. See more below.

The Communications Disorders Center
Albany Medical Center
The Communication Disorders Center (speech therapy) at Albany Medical Center provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to people of all ages with communication and swallowing disorders. Our speech language pathologists are licensed by the New York State Department of Education and certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

The Hearing Center
Albany Medical Center
The Hearing Center (audiology) at Albany Medical Center is the largest and most comprehensive audiology center in the region. Our team of highly skilled, doctoral level audiologists care for patients of all ages and developmental levels, from infancy to geriatrics, with hearing impairment and balance disorders. Our audiologists are licensed by the New York State Department of Education. They work closely with our otolaryngology (ENT) physicians and are an important part of the management team.
Services offered
- Diagnostic assessment with behavioral audiological testing, including pure tone audiograms, tympanometry with capacity to use multiple probe tones, and acoustic reflex testing
- Otoacoustic emission (OAE) testing, measuring both distortion product and transient evoked responses
- Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for hearing threshold and neurodiagnostic assessments
- Evaluation of the vestibular system using Electronystagmography (ENG) and Videonystagmography (VNG) test protocols
- Hearing aid consultations and evaluations
- Dispensing of hearing aids, earmolds and related supplies, accessories, and services
- Education for patients and families on hearing aid orientation to facilitate effective care and use of hearing aids
- Probe tube measurement to evaluate hearing aid settings and benefit
- Evaluation for cochlear implant
- Rehabilitation following cochlear implant

Hearing Services at Saratoga Hospital
Saratoga Hospital
In addition to traditional hearing tests, our services include diagnostic screening for patients of all ages with hearing complaints, such as ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss, ear infections, and more. Available tests include a comprehensive audiometry (hearing evaluation), acoustic reflex testing, auditory brain response testing (ABR), Eustachian tube-function test, speech testing, and tympanometry (middle-ear function testing), among others.
Industrial Hearing Screening
Our audiologist provides regular audiometric testing (hearing screenings) as required for employees in occupations with high noise exposure.
Hearing Loss Treatment
Hearing loss can occur through disease, injury, and genetic predispositions such as chronic ear infections, perforated eardrums, or age. In some cases, hearing loss is not reversible, but our team will diagnose and treat your symptoms and condition with options that include, among others, medicinal treatments such as corticosteroids, or minimally invasive surgery.

Hearing problems occur in many forms and to varying degrees. Using the most technologically advanced diagnostic tools, our audiologists will determine the extent and nature of your hearing problem and, if necessary, recommend a hearing aid or other non-medical treatment. In some cases, you may be referred to your physician for further medical evaluation or care.
