Dr. Brass works closely with Albany Medical College's ophthalmology residents and has a particular interest in teaching cataract surgery.

He previously won the department’s Golden Apple award for resident education and his research has been awarded as the “Best of Session” at the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Brass has been named a top physician by a variety of publications.

Dr. Brass served as a cornea fellow at the University of Wisconsin, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed his residency training at New York Medical College.
