Penny Knichel is a board certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in urology, with a clinical focus on adult urology–oncology. Prior to joining the urology team, she also worked in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and in orthopedics.

Knichel attended Sage College, in Troy, N.Y., where she earned her family nurse practitioner master's degree, graduating summa cum laude. Before beginning her nursing career, she earned her undergraduate degree in biology and education and taught many levels in the public education setting. She feels that this has helped her develop strong connections with her patients and helps her to provide exceptional patient care through education and collaboration.

When not in the clinic, Knichel can be found scuba diving, snowboarding, riding her motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends.
