Dr. Mian specializes in cancers of the prostate, kidney and bladder, as well as the use of laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery to treat these diseases. A skilled urologic surgeon, he is able to offer patients many advanced, minimally invasive procedures to treat and detect cancer, including UroNav fusion biopsy to detect prostate cancer and blue light cytoscopy to detect bladder cancer.

A diplomate of the American Board of Urology, Dr. Mian is very active in clinical research in the treatment outcomes for prostate cancer. He has also received funding to conduct basic molecular research to understand the biologic behavior of bladder cancer. He has authored numerous book chapters and articles on prostate and testis cancers, and lectures frequently on these subjects at national and international meetings.

Dr. Mian received his residency training in general surgery and urology at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed his fellowship training in urologic oncology and cancer biology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where he also served as a clinical faculty associate.

Dr. Mian has an active clinical research program evaluating diagnostic and treatment outcomes for prostate and bladder cancer. In addition, he has received funding to conduct basic molecular research to understand the biologic behavior of bladder cancer.
