Dr. Ramani specializes in caring for patients with HIV and hepatitis C. An expert in infectious diseases, he also treats a wide range of other infections, including pneumonia, influenza, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and skin and soft tissue infections.
Board certified in internal medicine, infectious diseases and infection prevention and control, Dr. Ramani is also credentialed as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He completed his fellowship training in infectious disease and residency training in internal medicine, where he served as chief resident, at Albany Medical College. He has also served as a professor of medicine in India.
Before joining Albany Medical Center, Dr. Ramani served the patients of Columbia and Greene counties for twenty years. He continues to serve as medical director for the Columbia County Department of Health. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Ramani is also a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and American Society for Microbiology.
