The Cares for Kids Radiothon Celebrates 25 Years

Cancer survivor, and Radiothon participant, Katelyn Hogan reflects on her diagnosis and journey with the children's hospital.

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital is our region’s only children’s hospital and can offer life-saving care, close to home. We need your help to further our mission.

On Thursday, May 4 and Friday, May 5, 2023, from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., tune in for the News Radio 810 & 103.1 WGY and 99.5 The River Cares for Kids Radiothon to support the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital.

Both days, our patients, families, and health care workers will share their emotional and inspiring stories that highlight the level of compassion and care available right here in the Capital Region; including Katelyn Hogan's story, which is highlighted in the video above. Katelyn was nine years old when she and her family turned to the Albany Med Health System for care. Her diagnosis of a Wilms Tumor was scary, but thanks to the support of our highly skilled doctors and nurses in the children's hospital, Katelyn is now 16 years old and a cancer survivor!

Together, through the community’s generosity during Radiothon, we can continue making miracles for our youngest patients throughout our community.
