Andrew DeVoe Named Chief Financial Officer of Health System

Albany Med Health System President and CEO Daniel T. Pickett III today announced the appointment of Andrew DeVoe as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Oct. 5, 2026.

DeVoe is a nationally recognized health care executive with extensive experience leading the financial operations and transformation of large, complex academic and integrated health systems. He currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Tufts Medicine in Boston.

DeVoe will lead the Albany Med Health System’s enterprise finance organization and oversee financial strategy, planning and analysis, accounting, revenue cycle, capital planning, treasury, payer strategy, and financial reporting. He will work closely with leaders across Albany Medical Center, Albany Medical College, Columbia Memorial Health, Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and the Albany Med Health System Visiting Nurses.

“Andrew is a proven health care leader who understands how disciplined financial management, operational improvement, and thoughtful investment work together to strengthen an academic health system,” Pickett said. “He has successfully led organizations through periods of significant transformation while remaining focused on their people, mission, and communities. His experience will be invaluable as we build a more integrated Albany Med Health System and execute First Choice 2030.”

At Tufts Medicine, DeVoe has helped lead a comprehensive financial and operational transformation focused on improving performance, strengthening revenue cycle operations, reducing costs, and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability and growth.

Previously, DeVoe served for eight years as executive vice president and chief financial officer of TriHealth, a clinically integrated health system based in Cincinnati. During his tenure, he led financial operations and strategy for an organization that included six hospitals, a large multispecialty physician group, major ambulatory locations, home health, hospice, rehabilitation, and other health services. TriHealth achieved one of the health care industry’s strongest credit ratings during his leadership.

DeVoe previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Aria Health System in Philadelphia and held the same position at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where he helped lead a significant financial turnaround. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions with Physiotherapy Associates, Apollo Health Street, and Tenet Health System. He also founded and served as principal consultant for Exceptional Healthcare Resources, a boutique consulting firm.

“The Albany Med Health System has an extraordinary mission, a proud history, and a unique responsibility as the region’s only academic health system,” DeVoe said. “I am excited to join Dan and the leadership team at this important moment in the System’s evolution and look forward to working with colleagues across the System to strengthen our financial performance, support responsible growth, and ensure our resources have the greatest impact where they’re most important: with our patients and communities. Together, we will expand our care and empower every colleague to deliver on our vision for First Choice 2030.”

Pickett also recognized Mitchell J. Amado III, who has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Glens Falls Hospital since 2014 and has served as interim chief financial officer for the Health System.

“Mitch provided steady and experienced leadership during an important period for our System,” Pickett said. “I am grateful for his commitment to the Albany Med Health System, his support of our enterprise financial priorities, and his continued partnership as we prepare for this transition.”

The appointment supports Albany Med’s First Choice 2030 strategy and its continued evolution into a more connected, integrated, and transformative academic health system. The strategy is focused on making Albany Med the first choice for patients, physicians, and other health care professionals, students, partners, and supporters throughout northeastern New York and western New England.
