Digestive & Liver

Advanced Care for Digestive and Liver Disorders

Gastroenterology (GI) physicians specialize in diseases and disorders affecting the digestive system including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and colon.

Hepatology is the study and management of diseases and disorders affecting the liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, and pancreas. From routine colonoscopies to the complex management of liver disease and digestive cancers, you can be confident you will receive the highest quality care.

Care Throughout the Capital Region

The Digestive Disease Center at Albany Medical Center is a comprehensive resource for digestive health and diagnosing gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Our team is comprised of renowned specialists in gastroenterology and hepatology. We offer the highest level diagnostic and treatment services in convenient settings.

The GI Center at Glens Falls Hospital is also a state-of-the-art facility where gastrointestinal and liver disorders are diagnosed and treated in an efficient and coordinated manner. The Center includes five procedure rooms and a fully equipped fluoroscopy suite should X-rays be required during your procedure.

At Columbia Memorial Health, a team of specialists provide care including colonoscopies and other services from simple to complex.

At Saratoga Hospital, gastroenterologists are highly skilled in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases of the digestive tract: the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon), rectum, and anus.

Endoscopy & Colonoscopy

In addition to advanced care, our specialists perform minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. For these procedures, your gastroenterologist will insert a tube through your mouth, nose, or rectum to examine your digestive tract and treat any problems they discover.

During a colonoscopy, for example, your gastroenterologist may remove small growths (polyps) that otherwise could become cancerous. That’s why colonoscopy is such an important—and effective—cancer screening tool.
