Dr. Akter is accepting new patients at CMH’s Twin County Cardiology in Catskill and Hudson.

After earning a medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Akter completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and cardiac electrophysiology at New York Methodist Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Akter is a lifelong community volunteer and native of Brooklyn who speaks fluent Bengali. Her volunteer work includes seeing patients at health fairs and free screenings, as we well as teaching medical students how to examine patients.
