Bilal Ashraf, MD

Department of Medicine
Member of AMC Faculty

Dr. Ashraf is a nutrition specialist who cares for patients with complex nutritional needs, including those who are malnourished and must receive their nutrition by intravenous or tube feeding to survive.

People with severe digestive conditions, such as the inability to swallow, a motility disorder, or a shortened intestine, cannot consume food through their mouths or digest food in the intestines. Instead, they rely on IV nutrition (also called parenteral nutrition or PN, with nutrients infused through a vein) or tube feeding (also called enteral nutrition or EN, with nutrients administered directly into the stomach or small intestine).

Dr. Ashraf cares for hospitalized patients and sees adult patients on total parenteral nutrition (TPN) at our gastroenterology clinic.
