Anshu Paul, MD, has joined the Division of Neonatology at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, part of the Albany Med Health System, and has been appointed assistant professor at Albany Medical College.

As a neonatologist, Dr. Paul will treat the tiniest patients in the neonatal intensive care unit. She is interested in researching neonatal infections, specifically the prevention and early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis, microbiome factors contributing to sepsis, and antimicrobial stewardship.

Dr. Paul completed a neonatology fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City, where she was awarded the Milton Singer Memorial Fellowship Award by Columbia University’s Department of Pediatrics and the Babies Hospital Alumni Association for exemplifying humane and compassionate care and demonstrating excellence in investigation. Dr. Paul completed a pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She earned her medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Paul was born in India but lived most of her life in New Jersey. She and her husband have two young children. They love board games and hiking, and they’re hoping to hike the 46 Adirondack High Peaks.
