Dr. Megan Gerber Selected for Prestigious Executive Leadership Fellowship

Albany Medical College Assistant Dean of Health Humanities Megan Gerber, MD, has been selected for the 2025-2026 class of fellows of the prestigious Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Now in its 30th year, the intensive one-year fellowship program includes leadership training with extensive coaching, networking, and mentoring opportunities. The goal is to help faculty develop the professional and personal skills required to lead and manage in today’s complex health care environment.

The curriculum also requires fellows to conduct an Institutional Action Project (IAP) that addresses an institutional or departmental need or priority. Dr. Gerber, who is professor of Medicine and section chief of General Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center, will concentrate on potential ways to strengthen the focus on and approach to population health in primary care throughout the Albany Med Health System.

Dr. Gerber’s term runs through April 2026. The ELAM program has more than 1,600 alumni from more than 300 health institutions around the country.
