Albany Medical Center Welcomes HIV Medicine Specialist Dr. Brittany Tayler

Brittany Tayler, MD, has joined the division of HIV medicine at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Tayler cares for patients living with HIV or who need HIV prevention services, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Board-certified in pediatrics and internal medicine, she cares for patients of all ages, genders, races, and sexual orientations.

Dr. Tayler previously worked at a clinic caring for patients living with HIV or providing HIV prevention services, and as a primary care specialist at the Hurley Children’s Clinic and Hurley Internal Medicine and Pediatric Clinic in Flint, Mich.

She completed a medicine-pediatrics residency at Albany Medical Center after earning her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She is working towards a Master’s of Public Health with a focus on Rural Health from Michigan State University. She has a special interest in substance use and harm reduction and improving access to care. Her research focuses on substance use disorders, youth tobacco use, and cannabis policy. Earlier this year, she was awarded the State of Michigan’s 2025 Jean Chabut Health Policy Champion Award for her statewide advocacy work in various public health issues.

She has presented nationally through the American Academy of Pediatrics on community engagement and advocacy and has served in advocacy leadership roles with the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Tayler is excited to be back in the Capital Region after living in Michigan.
