Albany Med Welcomes Pediatric Pulmonologist Dr. Kate Elizabeth Powers

Kate Elizabeth Powers, DO, a pediatric pulmonologist, has joined Albany Med’s Department of Pediatrics and has been named associate professor of Pediatrics at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Powers’ special interests include the treatment of cystic fibrosis and asthma as well as improving physical activity in all children and adolescents with chronic lung disease. She cares for patients with general pulmonary conditions, including bronchopulmonary dysplasia, asthma, interstitial lung disease, aerodigestive disorders and other lung diseases.

Most recently, she served as the cystic fibrosis pediatric program director at the Hasbro Children’s Hospital at Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Powers completed her fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed her residency in pediatric medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, and received her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine.

Dr. Powers will see patients at 22 New Scotland Ave., third floor, Albany, and will see patients every fourth Wednesday of the month at Albany Med Amsterdam, 375 Golf Course Road, Amsterdam. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, please call (518) 262-6880.
