Geriatric medicine focuses on the unique health care concerns of older patients, helping them maintain independence and be well for as long as possible. Since many patient concerns are chronic and overlapping, geriatricians work with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care. This multidisciplinary approach treats the whole person and helps patients and families understand their diagnoses and make informed decisions about treatment options.

We also discuss advanced directives with patients and families, answering questions and helping them understand the medical aspects of these important decisions.
