Glens Falls Hospital Named Among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Maternity Care

U.S. News & World Report, a well-known source for hospital rankings, has named Glens Falls Hospital a 2026 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care. This is the highest rating U.S. News gives to hospitals for maternity services.

U.S. News started reviewing maternity care in 2021. The ratings look at hospitals that offer labor and delivery services and share their data for review. For the 2026 report, about 900 hospitals from across the country submitted information. The purpose of the ratings is to help expectant parents choose a safe and reliable place to give birth.

Glens Falls Hospital earned a High Performing rating because of strong results in several important areas. These include C-section rates for low-risk births, newborn complication rates, breastfeeding rates, and other key safety measures.

“The Joyce Stock Snuggery was a leader from the start when we opened it as the first Labor/Delivery/Postpartum facility of its kind in New York State,” said Paul Scimeca, Glens Falls Hospital President & CEO. “This recognition is proof of the skill, dedication, and caring approach of our team and program.”

“Hospitals recognized as a U.S. News Best Hospital for Maternity Care meet important patient safety standards,” said Jennifer Winston, Ph.D., health data scientist at U.S. News. “When expectant parents see this designation, they can feel confident that the hospital provides high-quality, evidence-based maternity care.”
