Rachel Treers, NP, works in the division of pediatric pulmonary medicine. She cares for children with lung diseases including asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and cystic fibrosis, and provides care for conditions including recurrent pneumonia, croup, or wheezing.
Treers has a special interest in asthma management. She’s passionate about improving the patient’s self-management of asthma and ensuring equitable access to resources through education and community outreach. She also has a special interest in caring for infants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and coordinating care as they grow between the NICU and the outpatient clinic.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Treers worked as a registered nurse in Albany Medical Center’s Progressive Critical Care Unit, caring for medical, surgical, and neurological patients.
Treers earned both her nursing and nurse practitioner degrees at Russell Sage College.
Treers grew up in Rotterdam and now resides in Menands. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, skiing, playing piano, and collecting vinyl records.
