| Specimen Collection: | Collect blood in pre-chilled gray top tube. Deliver to lab on wet ice. Patient should be fasting. |

| Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: | Add an equal amount of perchloric acid to collected blood (1:1 ratio), shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Place in refrigerator for 5 minutes. Centrifuge for 5 to 10 minutes, remove supernatant. Refrigerate clear supernatant immediately. If supernatant is not clear, centrifuge again. Min 0.2 mL supernatant. |
