Specimen Collection: Surgical excision - large specimens surgically removed for treatment, repair or identification. 
Handling Instructions for Offsite Areas: If taken in AMC Operating Room bring fresh to the Pathology Lab C-57, otherwise place tissue in container of 10% neutral buffered formalin so that entire specimen is covered with formalin. If breast tissue is submitted in 10% neutral buffered formalin note date/time specimen is placed in formalin. If specimen is too large to be placed in a container with formalin it should be transported to the Histology Lab immediately or refrigerated.
